Cadence Roundtable

Environmental breakdown: professional peer-support, policy and practice

Coming up

The Cadence Roundtable is a confidential and supportive space for anyone in government or the voluntary or private sector who sees the need to prepare society for environmental breakdown.  Wherever you live in the world, you are welcome to join us at one of our forthcoming online events – we look forward to meeting you.

Meetings take place every one or two months by Zoom and last 60-90 minutes. Book on Eventbrite via the relevant link below. You will be sent an email with joining instructions. If you haven’t received an email it’s worth checking your junk folder and then contacting us.

Meetings are confidential, but we ask you to keep your camera on to promote an atmosphere of trust.

Cadence Conversation

  • How do you reconcile the disconnect between your organisation’s position on climate adaptation, and your own awareness of the risks?
  • How do you make conversations about preparing for environmental breakdown possible?
  • How are you getting on as you seek to play a part in preparing humanity for a dangerous future?

If you’re a participant in the Cadence Roundtable, you’re probably already living with questions like these. Beginning with our next mid-monthly session we will regularly offer an informal open space for participants to bring their own concerns and issues in anticipation of environmental breakdown.

Cadence Conversations offer a climate of intentional peer-support for our professional responsibilities in the face of environmental breakdown. Guided through a facilitated process, we’ll seek out ways forward, personally, professionally and in advocacy to government and commerce.

Cadence Conversations respond to a need expressed by many participants in our workshops for a regular space for mutually-supportive exploration.  They will alternate each month with topic-based workshops, like the ones which we have held for the last few years. Bring your own quandaries, frustrations and insights into being a professional in this age of upheaval.

Please bear in mind that, like other Cadence sessions, this workshop is not about actions to mitigate climate change – there are other fora to which we can refer you for that. The conversations we host are about adaptation and likely contraction or descent. Our society is already entering a profoundly challenging time of risk and loss. Our governments and corporations are not as well prepared as we need them to be. In Cadence Conversations it will start with each of us – we will be pioneers of the Anthropocene.
