The Cadence Roundtable is a confidential and supportive space for anyone in government or the voluntary or private sector who sees the need to prepare society for environmental breakdown. We’re excited to announce a fresh community-driven approach for Cadence. Join us for our new series of conversations through 2026, starting with watch parties on the National Emergency Briefing.
Formerly known for our live webinars, this year we’re offering regular reading/listening groups to respond to the best content from academia, government and expert journalism – and to translate that learning into real-life change. We’re starting with the National Emergency Briefing, given by leading speakers at the end of 2025.
Our goal remains the same: to help you and your organisation or profession to build societal resilience, locally and nationally, in the face of today’s polycrisis and cascading climate challenges.
There is now a growing number of researchers and innovators publishing leading-edge resources on preparing for climate breakdown. Cadence no longer needs to add to it, but that output has yet to make enough impact on policy, planning and professional practice, especially in vulnerable communities. That’s where we will make a difference.
Timings and outline of each session
7.30 Option to join early to read, listen or watch the session’s material together
8.00 Welcome, introduction and orientation, followed by conversation in small groups and plenary exploring:
- How you felt challenged to respond to the material, and the support you need to do so
- What should be included in adaptation planning at local and national levels?
- How can we bring it to the attention of local resilience partnerships, agencies and professions?
- How can we build a movement of people who take responsibility amid climate breakdown and runaway destabilisation.
9.00 Log off.
Cadence is still the only space out there for discovering ‘what is yours to do’ in the coming climate. Join us as we reconnect and reimagine adaptation together.

The Cadence Roundtable offers a forum for peer-support in the face of environmental breakdown. These events are a response to a need expressed by many participants in our workshops for a regular space for exploration. Please feel free to bring your own quandaries, frustrations and insights.
Please bear in mind that, like other Cadence sessions, this workshop is not about actions to reduce carbon emissions – we will be delighted to refer you to other relevant fora for that. The conversations we host are about adaptation – planning the changes we need to make in order to cope with climate impacts.
